Frequently Asked Questions

In response to the large number of requests and questions I get asked about Noggin the Nog, I've created this page to hopefully answer some of the more commonly asked ones.  If you don't find an answer to your question below, don't hesitate to get in touch, and I'll try and provide you with an answer.

What was the name of Noggin's boat?

Strangely, this is one of the most common questions I get asked.  Strange, I say, because the only boats to strongly feature in Noggin's adventures ("King of the Nogs" and "The Flying Machine") didn't actually have names.

Where can I buy Noggin books?

Until recently, all of the Noggin books were out of print.  However, Nogmania was republished in 2000 by The Dragons' Friendly Society, who also reprinted all twelve of the original sagas in late 2001.  Both of these products are currently available by mail order only from the Society's web page.  There are also second hand copies of these books and those others that are still out of print floating about - see the Memorabilia page for more details.

Where can I buy Noggin videos?

The complete set of Noggin's filmed adventures has recently been re-released as a double video by The Dragons' Friendly Society, entitled "The Sagas of Noggin the Nog".  The video is currently only available by mail order from The Society.

Can you include a recording of Oliver Postgate uttering those magic words "In the lands of the North..."

Due to popular request I've gone one further - the Downloads page now includes a short video montage from "The Ice Dragon", which although you'll need a lot of patience to download does, I'm glad to say, include Oliver's wonderful opening narrative.
